Procedure Candidate
Anyone with "lumpy, bumpy" appearance of cellulite. Because no surgery is involved, there are few patients who cannot potentially benefit. Patients with unwanted, localized collections of fat that are resistant to diet and exercise (e.g. Outer thighs, inner thighs, posterior, anterior thighs, abdomen, or upper arms).

Expected Results

Many patients have noticed 30% - 70% improvement in the shape and appearance of their cellulite.
Circumferential fat reduction of 2-6 cm may be achieved around the thighs, abdomen, arms, hips and truncal regions. The results of the fat reduction may be permanent, if weight control is consistent. The results and improvement in cellulite are NOT permanent and will need some maintenance treatments.
After completing the LipoLiteT program of 8 to16 treatments, single monthly maintenance sessions are required to prevent reappearance of cellulite. Maintenance treatments may be required every month.

Description of Procedure

The VelaSmoothT device provides a deep vacuum action, specifically designed to draw the fat and cellulitic skin up between the RF electrodes. The RF electrodes deliver deep radiofrequency energy into the fat and cellulite. Synchronous with the RF energy is deep infrared heating of the fat and cellulite. The RF and Infrared energy increases the metabolic rate of the fat (lypolytic), causing a localized weight loss as well as a break down (lipoclyasis) of the fat and slow, gradual, safe reduction of localized collections. The same deep RF and Infrared energy improves the metabolic health of the cellulitic skin and, over the 8 weeks, helps to break down cellulitic skin retractions and improve the drainage of swollen fatty tissue and, hence, improves the appearance of the cellulite. Over the 8 weeks, the "lumps and bumps" of the cellulitic skin are smoothened.

By breaking down the fibrous anchor points and mobilizing the fluid around the swollen clumps of fat cells, the appearance of your cellulite can be softened and improved. The fat and cellulite massage lasts 30-40 minutes. The treatments are relaxing and not painful.

Downtime and Healing

None required. No compression garment or support hose are required. You can resume your normal activities immediately after your treatments. There is no special diet, increased water or exercise required for the LipoLiteT program

Insurance Coverage

LipoLiteT is considered cosmetic and, therefore, is not covered by insurance. The patient is responsible for payment.

Maintanence

Cellulite is difficult and resistant, any improvement achieved with the LipoLiteT program in the improvement of your cellulite, will require maintenance treatments once monthly. If you have had a good fat reduction and contour result AND you do not alter your weight; you will not necessarily need a maintenance treatment.
